Product Description

Milky Blue Chalcedony and Freshwater Pearl Bracelet can be worn from 7.5″ to 8″ due to its sterling silver extension chain.  The bracelet is made up of tumble cut (faceted) natural milky chalcedony stones exhibiting hues of soft blues and gold.  The stones have been hand knotted onto blue silk with white freshwater pearls interspersed.  Each stone is different so the necklace you receive may vary slightly in hue to the piece pictured. For a lovely set match this necklace to the necklace in the collection.

About the materials used in our Milky Blue Chalcedony and Freshwater Pearl Bracelet

Freshwater pearls are cultivated in mussels rather than oysters, and most of the world’s supply are farmed in the lakes, rivers and ponds of China. The history of the Chinese Freshwater pearl is vast. It has been reported that in 2206 BC, pearls from fresh sources were already being paid as tributes, and descriptions about them can be seen in records dating back to the 18th century.

Freshwater pearls are easier to grow than salt water pearls; one freshwater mussel can grow a multitude of pearls at a time, compared to salt water oysters that usually produce only one pearl. That said, the cultivation of Freshwater pearls is still a labour of love;  mussels are often cultivated in farms in southern regions where pearl formation is faster, and then moved to northern farms (that have slower cultivation) to produce a compact nacre for better colour and lustre. They come in a range of colours including white, peach, pink and purple.  Pearl is June’s birthstone.

Some believe that spiritually pearls sooth and heal the negativity and struggle in your life, surround negative energy with Light and dissolve any negative energy being sent to you whilst healing your own negative thought patterns.

Chalcedony is a cryptocrystalline form of silica, composed of very fine intergrowths of quartz and moganite.

Chalcedony has a waxy luster, and may be semitransparent or translucent. It can assume a wide range of colors, but those most commonly seen are white to gray, grayish-blue or a shade of brown ranging from pale to nearly black.

Chalcedony is a nurturing stone that promotes brotherhood and good will.  It absorbs negative energy.  It brings the mind, body, emotions and spirit into harmony.  Chalcedony instills feelings of benevolence and generosity.  It alleviates hostility and transforms melancholy into joy.  Eases self-doubt.  Creates openness and enthusiasm.  Absorbs and dissipates negative thoughts, emotions and bad dreams.
